Rollforming Services Ltd - History

Rollforming Services (RFS) was established to meet a need identified by the Directors of Howick Ltd. Customers who required rollformed product had Howick Ltd build a machine for that purpose but had no facility or experience to run, so asked Howick Ltd to run it for them at Howick Ltd’s premises. With an increased number of customers requiring this service, a specialized factory was set up in 1996 to cater for demand and allow Howick Ltd to return to their core business of building machines.
RFS then continued to grow and become a large player in the Top Hat purlin market supplying a quality product to resellers New Zealand wide. RFS has also continued to supply Speedfloor manufacturing to Speedfloor Ltd, a product which was reputedly not possible to roll due to the tight radius’ and high tensile strength of the material.

In addition RFS also manufactures special sections for customers including plain and lipped channels, playground sections, radiator headers, fencing sections, and many other specialized profiles. Packedge (a product to protect packaging from damage when strapping) continues to be popular for exporting New Zealand produce overseas.

In 2003 the company moved to a new purpose built facility in East Tamaki incorporating two, 5 Tonne Gantry Cranes and space to grow. To date, the company has continued to obtain new markets whilst continuing to grow its current market, along with its partners.
